A beautiful example of premium Willamette Valley Chardonnay, with bright fruit notes and a crisp acidity. Smooth and velvety, but never buttery on the finish, unlike hotter climate Chardonnays.
The natural pear aromatic from the vineyard shines through, along with vanilla and brioche aromatics. The mouthfeel is bright and crisp. Flavors include green apple, and Bosc pear, with a lemon creme texture on the finish. In the cellar it will mellow and evolve for at least a decade.
We have less than an acre of Chardonnay planted on our vineyard, and produce around 150 cases per year.
The 2023 growing season was ideal. A mild Spring eased into a hot Summer with a large fruit set of very healthy grapes. The vines were thriving in our second year as a fully organic vineyard, and it was great to see them rebound with an abundance of latent energy after a small fruit set from the damp and difficult 2022 crop. We harvested the Chardonnay on September 12th, right in our typical time frame for Chardonnay.
